Tasting Notes
2005 Red Bicyclette Syrah - Original Review Courtesy of Robert K Jones

Background:
Winery & Vineyard - Since 2003, Red Bicyclette wines have captured the spirit and flavor of the Southern French countryside. Every bottle comes from Languedoc-Roussillon, a beautiful region on France's Western Mediterranean coast. With a legacy of winemaking that dates back more than 2,000 years to the Romans, the 700,000 acres of Languedoc produce more vin than any other region in France.
The Languedoc's ideal grape growing conditions - warm, sunshiny days and cool nights - mingle with mountains and valley, rivers, plateaus and coastline. No other wine is quite like the wines made from the grapes of Southern France… and no wine embodies the French Countryside quite like Red Bicyclette.

Winemaker's Notes
- The 2005 Red Bicyclette® Syrah is deep purple-to-black in color with violet accents. Aromas of blackberry and cassis with spicy overtones and subtle floral hints lead to a jammy core of blackberry with back notes of vibrant red fruit. Pairs well with a variety of dishes, from savory fillet mignon and grilled pork chops to tomato-based pasta entrees, such as lasagna.

Tasting Notes: Rich in blackberry flavours with a strong sense of pepper and spice that lingers but is followed by jammy core of blackberry and rich red fruit, this wine is extremely pleasant drinking. It is not overly sweet or fruity. The tannins are low to medium which makes it pleasant for most palates. The blaackbeery notes to the nose are exceptionally pleasing. This wine should do well cellared to 2014
